A classic trench coat is always in vogue, therefore is a necessity. I love a good duster coat, it’s perfect for all seasons depending on how you wear it. It’s super light and soft. It is also very functional and versatile. These are what you should look out for when picking out essential wardrobe staples. In addition to choosing a versatile, classic and functional coat, picking out a color that goes with a lot of your other clothes is as important. And so far I must say this piece works for me. I like unique colors and its getting warm, so I went a little vibrant and it works perfect. While its getting hot we experience cooler temperature at night and instead of throwing the ‘traditional’ blazer, you can switch things up by wearing this light duster coat.
Here are quick tips on finding a classic
Length and Fit
Choosing the right length and fit to suit your style is as important. I like to go two sizes above my actual size as I enjoy rocking the oversize look. I also have studied my body enough by wearing a lot of similar oversize looks to know what works best on me. Now as that may be the case, this may not look as flattering on someone else, the same way some fitted coats don’t look as flattering on me. So I suggest you look at the mirror again, try fitting other sizes and make a honest decision before leaving the store. It’ll save you a lot. Regarding lengths, depending on the type and style of coat, I go at least 2 inches below my knee,
Quality is important with the coats, I keep learning this everyday. If you are like me who is going to wearing the life out the coat, invest in a 90-100 (quality speaking). And as a reminder you’ll find affordable selections at a thrift store.
