The weather in Vancouver in last 18 months hasn’t been best. It changes dramatically, and it does mean you have to be prepared for rainfall, sunshine and snow equally happening on the same day, at anytime. I’m not even kidding!
So if you’re like me, still gearing through the sweater weather or winter, these tricks will help elevate your layering game.
It’s very important to keep warm, while still stylish. Below are some formulas that work for me all the time:
- Instead of casually wearing regular turtle neck tops, switch it up into a turtle neck sweater dress, with either a pinstripe blazer to add a vintage flare OR throw a long coat with huge pockets. Stylish and warm, equation balanced.
- Boots! Booties! Boots! Booties : Here’s the gist, people hardly notice that wearing boots or booties on layered pieces instantly transform your look, from 0-100, the same way pumps paired with dresses or jeans. It is one formula that will forever remain in style.
- Layer up, double up – Layer up two sweaters together. When it gets really cold, and you want to change things up, I suggest either layering two different colors of sweaters together or two sweaters with different patterns.
- Belts and scarves are great key pieces for stepping up your winter looks too. Use your scarf creatively, tie your scarf around wrist – a light scarf of course. And with belts, depending on the thickness of your layers, wear it either over the innermost or outermost layer – you’re probably familiar with this one.
