On average, you are most likely going to lose or break at least three umbrellas during the fall/ winter in Vancouver (Raincouver), true story , a little personal anecdote and an experience ‘Vacouverites’ (Someone who lives in Vancouver ) may find relatable. Notwithstanding, I prefer the rain to the snow, it’s okay to prefer otherwise, it is totally normal. I love the sound of rain, when it pours, the coziness and warmth I feel when I’m all snugged up in my sweater and or scarves, even more so when I’m in bed, buried under my duvet with a cup of tea and chocolate biscuits, reading a book or watching a movie. (Picture perfect eh? )
Fall is not my favorite of seasons because the lack of light and fall in temperature sometimes causes tiredness and hunger, and for some people, depression. Also fall outfits tend to be quite heavy, sometimes you have too many layers to contend with. So when the sun come out during this period, it ‘s time to expose your skin to a natural light, get light and play with colors. Again, I personally find fall a little dull and so I like to
work play with colors.
‘WEAR A RED LIPSTICK WHEN THE WEATHER LOOKS DULL, CLOUDY AND UNFRIENDLY’ I’M SERIOUS, because
it scares people away or finds you a man. No! JUST KIDDING
P.S- I’ve included some helpful tips I use to embrace the chill and enjoy the season at the bottom of this post 🙂
RAINY DAY – Outfit of the day: Denim shirt,/Yellow knitted scarf on Maxi skirt
Tips to hanging in there this fall:
– Replace dark knits with bright clothes
– Wear a bright lipstick you’re comfortable with
– Expose some skin to natural sunlight
-Treat yourself to a massage to get those oils in and /or get a manicure/or pedicure( Don’t be afraid to try colors).
